"My kids love School Books 4 Kids. They have everything you need. They are the best! We highly recommend them to anyone looking for educational books for their little ones" Karibatau - NSW - 18th June 2020
Time for Preschool Reading introduces the child to letters and sounds of the alphabet.
It links beginning sounds and letters to words and pictures the child can recognise. Each page has a clear outline of what the child is to do with the task. The visual cues and letter are used to foster an independence in the child who at this stage is unable to read but recognises pictures.
The pre-reading activities are introduced to help the child recognise things that are the same, things that belong and the one that is different. It encourages the child to look at the page from top to bottom, then as a whole to see likeness and differences from those pictures that are familiar to him or her.
Letters and sounds are introduced alphabetically with each picture labelled with its name. This links letters and sounds to the pictures and words which is an introductory skill used in developing a foundation in reading.
The purpose of this pre-reading book is as a valuable resource and when used in the correct manner to help facilitate early reading skills, the child will find it enjoyable. Parents and preschool teachers will see it as an ideal extension of the preschool program.
Message to Parents
Preschool will help your child learn social skills associated with being part of a group outside the home. However, it is parents and home environment that nurtures a child from birth, establishes values, attitudes to learning, the child will be successful at school and want to achieve in such a positive environment.
As a parent, you should assist the child with reading and discussing instructions, encourage the child to do the work. With encouragement and success comes confidence to acquire reading skills.
